P.When content or data of one disk is transferred to another disk, it is known as cloning a disk. And seeing as I only plan on doing this once (and having the two drive dilemma anyways), I don't really want to go spend $50 on cloning software, when I'm sure there has to be a simpler way to do this without it. Nor do I want to buy another one right now. How do I make this work with only two drives? I could see it not being a problem with a third drive, but I don't have one.

As I can't restore from an image file, onto the same drive it exists on( Create Image of C: on drive E: and restore from image onto drive E, nor can I write the image file onto the drive it's copying( Image of C: onto C: and restore to E. Which is fine, if you want to just backup and restore later, but that's not what I want to do. All the software I've found just creates an "image" file. But I'm having trouble with cloning the old drive. Now I already have an external hard drive dock, that connects via USB3 cable. I Currently have a 640GB WD Caviar Black, and I want to swap it out for a 750GB WD Caviar Black 64MB Cache (complete swap, use 750 as new Boot Drive).
